Flight time: August-May, hibernating through winter

Larvae mine undersides of leaves then feed in web beneath leaves.

Larvae of A. propinquella feed on Creeping Thistle and Spear Thistle,
A. subpropinquella on Knapweed (Centaurea spp.)and Thistles (Cirsium)

Usually recorded as 696x Agonopterix propinquella / subpropinquella. Require breeding from foodplant or genitalia examination to separate.
