Acleris laterana and Acleris comariana are very difficult to separate.
Adults require genitalia examination but larva can be distinguished in later instars.

Wingspan: A. laterana: 15-20mm. A. comariana: 13-18mm
Flight time: A. laterana: Aug-Sept. A. comariana: Jun-Jul, late Aug-Nov

Food plants:
A. laterana: May-June, rosaceous trees and shrubs, Salix, Vaccinium
A. comariana: Wild and cultivated strawberry
