Widespread but scarce, mainly coastal
Wingspan: 22-28mm. Pattern and colour very variable

Flight time: July-August
Habitat: Open, well-drained grasslands, often near coast

Larvae feed on grasses including Sheep's Fescue and False Oat-grass
